GDPR - Your Information - Your Safety!

Data is a serious issue and you can rely on the fact that ParkerBrand are always on point. It’s a big responsibility and it’s a major part of our customer care charter.

We spend time keeping our valued customers informed about what we DO and how we do it. We’ve built our excellent reputation for customer care and after sales service in such a way.  What we’d like to make clear is what we do NOT DO.  This is so that you know that shopping with ParkerBrand is a completely safe and secure experience.

THE ROOT OF IT

WE DO NOT sell your data to anyone and we never, ever will. The root of it all is that the only data we retain is what we are legally required to do so. This blog stems from a meeting in which we talked about some emails customers had sent in; they wanted all their details erased.

When you buy something from us, we have to keep minimal details to ensure compliance with other legislation. Such examples of these are as follows:

  • Invoice Details -   We need to keep a copy of your details and sales order record for a minimum of 6 years. This is to ensure we comply with HMRC (should they wish to do an inspection).
  • Order Details / Purchase History - In the unlikely event that we have a product recall - we need to know who purchased what product from us and when. This is to ensure we can safely target any customers we believe have been effected by a product recall.

There is one person that takes responsibility for that information and that’s the Managing Director.

The root of it is that we are fully conversant with something called GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). This is all about protection against unlawful processing or accidental loss, destruction or damage of your information. We adhere to the GDPR in every respect.

The only time ANY of your data is shared with an external provider is:

  • Delivery Arrangements - We need to pass your delivery address and contact number to our delivery partner. Partly so they can notify you when to expect the delivery of your parcel, but also in the event they need to contact you with a query regarding your delivery.
  • Payment Processor - Your details will be passed to our payment provider to process your card payment. More on that below...

MAKING A PAYMENT

We have invested a great deal of time and money protecting all our systems and the website from fraudulent people and their illegal behaviour. We’re proud to say that it has never been safer to shop with us.  We don’t rest on our laurels either.  We have a dedicated team who take care of this very important side of our business. It’s very important to you and so very important to us.

When you make your payment, it is totally encrypted. We don’t retain your payment/card details because we never really had them in the first place. We can't view any of the payment data after ordering.  The data was merely used to verify that your payment is from a safe card. Pretty reasonable after all.

WE’LL SHARE IT WITH YOU

If you would like a copy of the data that we do have for any reason we shall certainly share everything that we have with you, the customer. You will never have any qualms from us in that respect.  If you request it, you get it.
