As much as the roots of both crops and hedgerow flora needed it, as much as the birds, insects and mammals needed it, as much as we need it even, the flood that followed was impressive.

Our 52cc water pump is another application of our reliable two-stroke classic engine. We do have some larger and very effective pumps (they've moved approx 600 litres of water max a minute) but these can be simply too much for these smaller tasks. Our 52Cc water pump achieves a steady and even 85 litres a minute - a far more manageable quantity for dealing with smaller flooded areas or pumping out garden ponds or irrigation tasks for allotments of vegetable gardens.

Our pumps are specifically designed for hassle free working and a quick set up. Here are the key things that you should consider. It's a two stroke engine that works at a RATIO of 40:1 - simple to start and straight forward.
A couple of top tips from the techie tea-room:
- Always seal your intake and outlet hoses to the pump with some electrical take or even a bit of cling film wrap - this ensures that there is no air getting into the system at all.
- Be sure to buy hard-walled /rigid intake hoses
- When you store your pump for any length of time, drain the petrol from the tank and run the engine as if you were going to use it. This is called 'running dry' - it prevents fuel from coagulating in the jets of your carburettor and general depreciation of the fuel system.
