Over the last decade or so our welders have risen and risen in popularity. As you have asked us for different specifications we have broadened our range. It's the same with our well-reviewed plasma cutters - when these were introduced to our range in 2018 we were surprised by the huge demand - so much so, that we also added our 30-amp version within only a few months. We are often asked this question; 'Can I change the plug?'
Safety First: 16 Amp Plug

Your ParkerBrand Welder or Plasma Cutter comes fitted with a 16 amp plug and will require a corresponding socket - often known as 'workshop sockets'. This plug MUST NOT BE CHANGED to a standard 13amp household plug. Doing so will endanger you, damage your machine and void your warranty.
This is for clear reasons of safety and the longevity of your kit. If you change this plug you will certainly expose yourself to danger as well as your machine. It will in effect irreparably damage the circuit board of your machine and will render it useless within a short time - no one wants this! We do make all of these clear in the operating manual of the machine, which you can easily download from the 'Literature' tab of the product page.
Use in combination with Residual Current Device (RCD)
We recommend using an RCD device with all the models in our welder or plasma cutter range. These are an added level of safety when using this kind of kit - and any responsible manufacturer will state the same. You can find out more about them here.
