Buying a Handheld Petrol Leaf Blower

Using your ParkerBrand leaf blower, or any petrol leaf blower for that matter, is a wonderful thing. They truly save hours of work, but do need to be used correctly and maintained as per your manual. Checking the features of the leaf blower is important. In general if you looking at a three in one machine such as the ParkerBrand PBV-2600 or PBGV-2800 you should ideally check that it features the following:

A durable metal mulching blade is an essential part of the machine - don't opt for plastic. A strong mulching blade that is made of metal features on superior machines. Be sure it is easy to access too - this assists in freeing up any blockages in a safe manner with the minimum of fuss.

The ideal machine should feature a narrow nozzle for blowing - look for a machine that has a narrow or tapered nozzle to direct the flow of air accurately. You'll get far more done in a shorter time!

Most of the 'handheld' type of machines feature collection bags. Make sure they are lined or waterproof collection bags - we've found that collection bags that aren't waterproof often leak and leave you with a wet leg.

Although far less tiring than even the prospect of raking all those leave, a machine that boasts comfortable handles and shoulder straps is advised. Look for well-made shoulder straps - some even have padding these days.

A tapered end to the tubing will mean a better control of the airflow and easier working

Consider storage space. Leaf blowers will need to be stored for most of the year - getting most of the action during the autumn of course. If you have limited storage, look for one with a telescopic nozzle or one that you can take apart easily, and stack according to the space you have.

A further thought: Hack! So called 'Life Hacks' exists for blowers! Meaning that there alternative uses for them, and we've certainly put all of them to use - especially light snow and water. These are some general points for hand held leaf blowers. Backpack blowers are a notch up - and especially for use in larger gardens or properties. We'll be writing about them soon on the ParkerBrand blog.
